Meet the Owner
Thatcher Brown
Founder & Owner
I started Lincoln Tax & Bookkeeping with a simple goal: to provide small businesses with practical, dependable financial support from someone who understands the challenges of running a business.
Before starting Lincoln Tax & Bookkeeping, I spent four years in banking, from 2018 to 2022. During that time, I worked with businesses and individuals on financial decisions, lending, and overall banking needs.
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Fort Hays State University before beginning my banking career.
In 2022, my wife Breanna and I moved to Lincoln, Kansas to be closer to family. Lincoln is the community where Breanna grew up, and her parents and extended family still call Lincoln home. After having children, we realized how much we valued being close to family and wanted to build our lives in a community where we could make a direct difference.
We have grown to really appreciate the small-town character of Lincoln and the opportunity to know the people around us. That same personal approach is something I bring to my work with clients.
Part of the Community
We believe in investing in the community we call home.
Being involved in Lincoln is important to our family. I serve on the board of the Lincoln County Economic Development Foundation and have also coached youth sports. My wife and I are also foster parents and, while we do not currently have an active placement, we continue to provide respite care when we can.
Breanna is active throughout the community as well. She serves on the Lincoln Center Improvement Committee, volunteers for local events, and works with Parents as Teachers, serving families throughout several communities in Lincoln County. She has also started several community-focused side businesses and projects, including bringing Alison's Pantry to Lincoln and creating the Messy Bun Club, a group that meets monthly.
For us, being part of a small community means more than simply living here. It means supporting local businesses, helping create opportunities, and doing what we can to make Lincoln a great place to live and work.
Another Local Venture
Lincoln's Shared Kitchen
In the fall of 2025, our family opened Lincoln's Shared Kitchen, a commercial-grade rental kitchen and dining space designed for aspiring food entrepreneurs.
The idea came from seeing a building on Main Street sit empty for an extended period of time. Rather than watch another downtown property remain unused, we saw an opportunity to create something that could benefit local entrepreneurs and the community.
Lincoln's Shared Kitchen is another example of what we enjoy about living in a small town: seeing an opportunity, taking a chance, and creating something that can have a positive impact locally.
Supporting Local Business
Whether it's helping a local entrepreneur get their books organized, helping a business owner understand their financial position, or creating space for someone to start a food business, we believe small businesses are an important part of a strong local community.
